The Restoration Process
The mantel was carefully dismantled and transported to our London studio in Twickenham. Our in-house stonemason, with over 30 years of experience, cleaned, repaired, and reassembled the piece. Stain removal and precision refinishing brought the marble back to its original state.
Fireplace Chamber, Fire selection, design and Installation
The existing tiled chamber was removed and opened out. A Barbas Bellfire Smart Bell 80/80 gas fire was specified and installed, offering a clean-lined aesthetic with efficient performance.
Hearth & Surround
A new honed granite hearth was cut and installed, accompanied by matching granite slips to frame the fire neatly and complement the marble mantel.
